Mandatory Gas/Receipt stops.
Mark down your odometer mileage on your gas receipt or take a picture of your gas receipt with the date, time, address in front of your motorcycle’s odometer.
1 – Burnside, AZ
2 – Moab, UT
3 – Gunnison, CO
4 – Clines Corners, NM
5 – if you get to the Village Inn after midnight then get a final receipt and odometer reading at Circle K on Juan Tabo and Lomas.
Burnside, AZ – about 206 miles from Albuquerque, NM
Two stations available, Giant and Exxon.
- Giant is open 24/7
- Exxon is open 6am to 9pm.
Exit 20 at Gallup, NM north for 7 miles then take a left on “Code Talkers Highway – 264”. Possible gas stops at Gallup, NM or Window Rock, AZ depending on your tank range.
Moab, UT – 228 miles from Burnside, AZ
Multiple stations available.
Once you pass Moab on UT-191, you will turn right on UT-128 and have a nice twisty ride along the Colorado River on a tight two-lane road with no shoulders but turnouts along the way.
When you reach the UT-128 junction you can turn either left or right to get to I-70. The road to the right is the google maps solution but the 7 miles are wavy, and you will likely slow down a bit. The road to the left is about 2 miles to I-70 and likely wavy as well.
When you reach Grand Junction, CO and turn south on CO-50, you’ll be on your way to Delta, CO. The Google Map directions take you to a cutoff path that circumvents part of I-50. This represents a short time and distance saving. I would consider this option if you want to simply follow CO-50.
Gunnison, CO – Gas Stop has several gas options.
After Gunnison, you follow CO-114 towards Monte Vista and then south to Antonito, CO. Antonito is about 148 miles from Gunnison. You should gas at this stop as you won’t find a gas station southbound for another 100 miles.
You will have at least a few gas stops before you hit the last mandatory gas stop.
Clines Corners, NM
One gas station/truck stop. Open 24/7. After Clines Corners, it’s a quick 50+ miles back to the Village Inn on Juan Tabo in Albuquerque, NM
